Hello! I am so excited that you are here on my photography website! I am the lady behind the lens, the photographer, and the one who loves to capture all of your special memories into portraits. My name is Rachel, and I absolutely LOVE my job as a photographer! I was married to my amazing husband in 2012, and we have four adorable little ones. Joshua is 8, Adaline is 7, Landon is 4, and Elsie was born in December of 2022. You will probably see their faces throughout the website as well, since I of course love to photograph them any chance I can get! My husband is a dairy farmer, which means our little family lives on the farm. This supplies many wonderful photo opportunities, as you can see throughout my work that I love to photograph on the farm with lots of different animals. This is part of the reason pet photography has become a love of mine! Some of my favorite subjects are our chickens, as you will see. 

From the start I always had a camera in my hand, and eventually went to Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo for my photography degree after graduating high school. I started the portrait studio, Unique Memories by Rachel, during the summer of 2010 in West Union, Iowa. I have been going ever since! I am an active member of the Professional Photographers of Iowa and the Professional Photographers of America. I received my Masters Degree in Photography through the Professional Photographers of America in 2019, and along the way, I placed top photographer in Iowa in 2017! I have had so much fun on this journey, and cannot wait to continue improving with classes and competitions.
